The subject of our study is the folk beliefs that belong to Tosya and its surroundings. For centuries people always have been in need of believing in something. With this case, which is a psychologial relief, human prioritized the happiness he/she gave to himself/herself. These folk beliefs referred to as `superstition` had effected people without discriminating culture and education. Because no matter how much the education level of person increase, the cultural and social environment in which he/she raised have influence on his/her learning these beliefs. At the root of the folk beliefs existing in Tosya, it is seen that many of them stand on the Old Turkish beliefs. It shows us that, for centuries, Turks have not severed their connections with old religions and cultures while there were converting into a new religion under the influence of many religions and beliefs. Since appraising the society without their belies causes a deficiency, it must be studies as a whole.
