Mausoleums and tombs represented a very important part of İslamic architecture in all its eras. The doctrinal differences, customs and beliefs inherited directly influenced the architectural design of these tombs. The ancient Turkish tribes, which were keen to commemorate the memory of their leaders by erecting a monument to them, continued in this tradition after entering İslam. Therefore, we find that the different geographical regions that were subjected to Turkish rule in the era of İslam were built on the basis of the same viewpoints and beliefs despite the different shrines that were established from Architectural area. Thus, the Mamluks of Turkish origin, when they ruled Egypt, created a large collection of magnificent shrines in accordance with the traditions of Egyptian society and the artistic taste of the period. A comparative study of tombs in Egypt in the Mamluk and Anatolia era in the Seljuk era, although we find that they differ in terms of the general shape, but both are composed of the same basic architectural units. But different in the design of these units in accordance with the nature of the environment and climate as well as the building materials available in each environment such as stones of various types, red bricks or brick, marble, wood and other building materials. For example, while most Anatolian mausoleums were built with a conical or pyramid roof, the Mamluk architecture suggested the construction of square mausoleums covered by decorative stone domes. Finally, it can be said that the `tombs` in İslamic architecture has a very important place. With strong political and military relations between the Seljuks of Anatolia and the Mamluks in Egypt, we found that it is very useful for the history of art and the history of architecture to study and compare the impact of these relations on the construction of shrines in those regions.
