Özet

Although many empires, many cultures and civilizations collapsed since its foundation, the Hanafi Sect, which survived until today and which still maintains its improvement by gaining strength and by developing, especially its founder Abu Hanifa (ra) and his students, has always been the focus of attention and research subject. In this study, we aimed to investigate the background of the usûl (juristic method) and ijtihad (juristic reasoning) of the Hanafi sect. We investigated the main characteristics of Hanafî sect that distinguish it from other sects, and also the reasons and results of these characteristics as a concept. For example, we tried to find the answer to the questions such as why, in where, and which results the Hanafi Sect looked after when using the method of Istihsan ((juristic preference) used by the Hanafî sect very much.To be able to understand the general characteristics of the Hanafi sect, we started the scope of our research from the history of the emergence of the sects. In this process, we have seen that some of the characteristics of sects are related to their structure and to their usûl (juristic method). Therefore, we have examined our thesis into two main sections:`the basic characteristic related to its structure` and `the basic characteristic related to its usûl (juristic method). In its basic characteristics related to its structure, we investigated the characteristics related to the foundation of the Hanafi sect and influenced the emergence of usûl (juristic method) of sect. In the basic characteristic related to its usûl (juristic method), we examined the reasons for using some of the secondary evidences with examples.
