Today, with the technological innovations in data networks and the increase in data transfer speeds, the existing network infrastructure is being served with new technologies and applications. Voice Communication over Internet Protocol, one of these new applications, has become a rapidly evolving technology that allows voice packets to be transmitted over data networks. Today, a significant part of the communication infrastructure is replaced by new generation networks . Owing to the inefficient bandwidth usage and the high cost inconveniences of the telephone communication over the existing circuit switched networks, Voice Communication over Internet Protocol is introduced. Those introduction of new technologies yield to introduce some protocols, Such as SIP Protocol. Along with the new environments and protocols some quality concerns occurred. . With this thesis, it is aimed to propose a framework in order to measure parameters such as end - to - end delay, delay variation, packet loss, protocol compatibility to RFC 3261.In order to provide globally usage ; globally accepted protocols , tools and technics have been used within the study.
