In this work, we have tried to examine how amr bil maroof wa nahi 'anil munkar (enjoining good and forbidding wrong) are handled by Imam Abu Mansur al-Mâturidi.Maroof includes all kinds of goodness, and munkar includes all kinds of evil. Encouraging the processing of goodness and obstruction of evil has always been an important principle in the history of Islamic thought. For the first time, it is seen that Kharijites is the one who interprets this principle in terms of sectarian meaning. In doing so, they used the hard and rigid method of their general methods here, and they led to unprecedented consequences. Mu'tazila also counted this principle among its five principals. Although not as much as the Kharijites, Mu'tazila sometimes took a hard line in the implementation of this principle and applied it in the political arena, especially in the period of the Mihna, by using violence. However, the principle has been mostly evaluated in the framework of the imam in terms of Shia, and they have not avoided it in the hard way, especially to those whom they claim to be pro-Umayyad, from time to time.Imam Mâturîdî tried to interpret the principle with a method that reason is dominated by reason. We can say that when he has enjoined good and forbidden wrong, he has adopted a method that is soft, embracing, inclusive, merciful-oriented and fit for human nature, and he thought that this doctrine must be applied to these principles. Today we can express the constructive role of Mâturîdî's thoughts in the face of the Kharijites minded entities in particular.Key words: Mâturîdî, Kharijites, Mu'tazila, Maroof, Munkar, Enjoining, Forbidding.
