Being the product of the effort of human beings to explain the meaning of the eternity of the world and their own existence, space is more than just the meanings of limited areas that are established for acommodation, survival and socialization. Space that was formed by human beings to sustain their existence on earth started to affect the shapes attributed to life with the help of the skill of thinking, which separates them from other creatures, in the course of time. By this way, space gains brand new social and cultural meanings outside of its architectural definitions. Enabling the social life, space becomes effective upon the generation of culture by affecting the social life. In this sense; it is the concrete manifestation of the abstract culture. All the artistic narrations need space to convey their meanings. Artistic space exists in both the presentation of the form with a limited frame and the transformation of real spaces with new meanings. Being a modern art, cinema has the overtones of former arts. The visually and audially multidimensional technique of cinema extends the scope of this interaction, as well. Cinema, which uses the space formation properties of other arts, is able to form the space in a multidirectional way with the help of its closeness to reality and facilities of mobility. The Turkish cinema uses the space usage characteristics of former traditional arts. This interaction has long consisted of the transfer of the traditional sense, which is dominated by the oral culture, to the cinema that is a new art as it is. Even though the directors are in pursuit of an innovation regarding the use of the cinematic space with their personal cinemas within periods against the repetitions of the Turkish cinema that are based on certain patterns, they have failed to destroy the monotonous narration. It is observed that the space has started to be used in a different way as from 2000. As well as the increase of film productions, the directors who try to form their own expression in terms of the use of space attract attention in this period. The personal cinema created by these directors and the use of space have gained important differences and innovations compared to the Turkish cinema in the past.
