Education reforms stress that instead of traditional teaching approaches, contemporary teaching approaches in which students become active and the teacher is a guide should be adopted. In opposition to the traditional methods, the contemporary methods focus on the need of a continuous assessment process and individualized assessment. If assessment takes place at every step of the education process, it can be more objective and realistic. For this reason, in the teaching procedure, teaching materials based on contemporary learning theories are needed.In this study, students? attitudes to professional software and the effects of computer-assisted learning and traditional learning methods on student achievement are assessed comparatively. For this purpose, the electric-electronic circuit applications used during the `Electric-Electronic Principles` course were observed in different ways. To evaluate about using professional software; academic achievement, attitude towards computers, trends to prefer among professional software programs that used in study were investigated.The research has been carried out at Gungoren Industry Vocational High School located in Istanbul in the second term of 2009/2010 academic year. Firstly, tenth grade classrooms? schedule and computer lab facilities have been viewed. The situation in school has been taken into consideration as two classes were chosen randomly from among tenth grade classes.Experimental model with the pretest-posttest control group is used in order to determine the effect of computer aided education based on professional software applications on students? academic success. The students in each classroom were divided into two groups. One of the two groups in each classroom was determined as experimental group and the other one as control group. This experimental study is based on Solomon four-group model composed of two test groups and two control groups.In this way, the two experimental groups consist of a total 30 students and similarly the two control groups consist of a total 30 students, 15 from each group. While experimental groups had been performing their lecture course with computer-aided professional software by the researcher, the control groups merely studied the same subject with traditional learning methods by their teacher.Two measurement tools known as ?Computer Attitude Scale? and ?Academic Success Test? were improved in the research. Success Test?s reliability coefficient was calculated at 0.72 that as equivalent of KR-20. Computer Attitude Scale?s alpha factor was calculated at 0.91 as internal consistency reliability coefficient for the whole scale.During the analysis arithmetic mean, t test, Anova, Friedman and Wilcox Tests etc. were also used. The data was analyzed using meaningful level p<0.05 by SPSS 16.0 statistical program.According to the results of the Anova test, there is not a meaningful difference between the arithmetic averages of the groups. The results have shown that the computer-assisted instruction program was as successful as the traditional education program.In addition, as a result of the observations made during the application and the individual interviews of the students, it was observed that the use of these kind of professional software programs influenced factors such as students? interest in the subject, self-confidence and motivation in a positive way.

Eğitim reformları geleneksel öğretim yaklaşımının yerine öğrencinin aktif olduğu ve öğretmenin rehber olduğu çağdaş öğretim yaklaşımlarının benimsenmesi gerektiğini vurgulamaktadır. Geleneksel yöntemlerinin aksine modern yöntemler, değerlendirmenin sürece yayılması ve bireyselleştirilmesi gerektiğine odaklanmıştır. Değerlendirme, öğrenme sürecinin her anında yer alabilirse daha nesnel ve daha gerçekçi olabilir. Bu nedenle öğretim sürecinde çağdaş öğrenme kuramına dayalı geliştirilen öğretim materyallerine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.Bu çalışmada, öğrencilerin meslekî yazılım eğilimleri ve geleneksel yöntem ile bilgisayar yardımıyla yapılan öğrenmeler arasındaki öğrenci başarı düzeyi karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, ?Elektrik Elektronik Esasları? dersinde kullanılan elektrik-elektronik devre uygulamaları çeşitli açılardan incelenmiştir. Meslekî yazılımların kullanımını değerlendirmek için akademik başarı, bilgisayara yönelik tutum, çalışmada kullanılan meslekî yazılımlar arasında oluşan tercih eğilimleri araştırılmıştır.Araştırma 2009/2010 eğitim öğretim yılının ikinci yarıyılında, İstanbul'da bulunan Güngören Endüstri Meslek Lisesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öncelikle, onuncu sınıflara ait ders programları ve laboratuar imkânları incelenmiştir. Onuncu sınıf düzeyindeki sınıflar arasından iki sınıf rastgele şekilde seçilirken okuldaki mevcut durum göz önünde bulundurulmuştur.Meslekî yazılım uygulamalarına dayanan Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitimin, öğrencilerin ders başarılarına olan etkisini belirlemek için ön-test/son-test kontrol gruplu deneysel model kullanılmıştır. Her bir sınıftaki öğrenciler ikişer grup oluşturacak şekilde ayrılmışlardır. Her sınıftaki iki gruptan biri deney grubu olarak diğeri kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu deneysel çalışma, iki deney ve iki kontrol grubundan oluşan Solomon dörtlü grup modeline dayanmaktadır.Bu şekilde, her bir grup 15 kişi olacak şekilde, iki deney grubu toplam 30 ve benzer şekilde iki kontrol grubu toplam 30 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Deney grupları derslerini araştırmacı nezaretinde meslekî yazılım programları ile bilgisayar destekli işlerken, kontrol grupları ise aynı konuları sadece geleneksel yöntemle kendi öğretmenleri ile işlemişlerdir.Araştırmada Bilgisayar Tutum Ölçeği ve Akademik Başarı Testi olmak üzere iki ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir. Başarı testinin güvenilirlik katsayısının KR-20 karşılığı, 0.72 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bilgisayar Tutum ölçeği iç tutarlılık katsayısı olarak alfa faktörü ölçeğin bütünü için 0.91 olarak hesaplanmıştır.Analiz sürecinde aritmetik ortalama, t testi, Anova, Friedman ve Wilcoxon gibi testler kullanılmıştır. Veriler p<0.05 manidarlık seviyesi kullanılarak SPSS 16.0 istatistik programı ile analiz edilmiştir.Anova testi sonuçlarına göre, grupların aritmetik ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark yoktur. Sonuçlar, bilgisayar destekli öğretim programının geleneksel eğitim programı kadar başarılı olduğunu göstermiştir.Ayrıca, öğrencilerle gerçekleştirilen bireysel görüşme ve uygulama süresince yapılan gözlemler sonucunda, sanal laboratuar kullanımının, öğrencilerin konuya karşı ilgi, özgüven, motivasyon gibi faktörleri olumlu yönde etkilediği gözlenmiştir.
