The new generation of communication systems using fiber-optic cables, have been able to achieve high data rates. However, in order to reduce the difficulties of cabling and costs cables, fiber optic cables connect to a central control stations are used which can be transmitted by radio over fiber optic cable. This technology also called radio over fiber (RoF). Due to this system, fiber optic technology reaches to areas previously inaccessible. At these areas, radio frequency (RF) has been reached with waves, where RF is used for high data rate and bandwidth with fiber optic cable can be taken. In this thesis study, different parameters on the system for the installation of RF sub-carrier of download and upload lines ing the two-way communication system Rof were investigated. For this purpose, efects of different fiber lengths, number of channels and output laser power were analyzed on the system. Finally, to extend the distance of Rof system and to improve output data in long-distance lines, erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is used. All analyzes were performed with optical media design software Optisyste 7.0. Practical design software environments can also help to determine the optical media optimization and simulation results are evaluated. Consequently, the fiber length increases on Rof system was observed that drops of the data transmission performance. The transmission distance could be effectively increase with one or two EDFA unit using on Rof system.
