The use of natural resources, which started with the industrial revolution in today's world and continues with globalization, continues to increase. Regardless of which economic system, increase of resource use and not recognizing limits in resource use create pressure on the environment. This increasingly continuing pressure makes existing social and economic systems unsustainable. In this study of thesis, the concept of green growth, which is the youth stage that will provide the continuity of existing systems, has been evaluated in different aspects. By examining the previous economic growth and sustainable development categories before it and by evaluating its theoretical and application dimensions on the scale of Turkey and the World, Green growth which is a growth model that respects the environment is revealed to have a new and different growth perspective that will provide socio-ecological transformation for the countries. Green growth refers to a growth process that can be applied according to the changing geographical and environmental conditions of the countries, minimizing the ecological risks, considering future generations without damaging the environment and includes a new economic growth paradigm for existing systems. The criterion that can best measure the effectiveness of countries' green growth indicator implementations is seen as data envelopment analysis. CCR and BCC models of data envelopment analysis methods have been used in the application part of the study in order to determine the green growth effect of Turkey and the applicability of green growth. In this context, a relative efficiency analysis was conducted for OECD, BRIICS and TURKEY to compare the input and output steering country and country groups using the green growth indicator data determined by OECD for the years 2008-2012. 7 inputs and 7 outputs were used in the analysis. The analysis work is organized under three main headings. According to the results of the analysis, Turkey is a fully active country among the OECD countries in terms of green growth in all years, whereas in the analyzes made with OECD and BRIICS countries it is not a fully active country in all years. Although Turkey is at the level that can carry out and implement structurally green growth presented as a new development strategy, some structural and systematic deficiencies should be eliminated. In this respect, green growth must be studied critically, application examples should be analyzed, what benefits it will provide for the economy, prosperity and natural asset base should be researched. Green growth is no longer a choice and it has become a necessity for the world.
