Özet

There is no doubt that the biggest philosopher of the seventeenth century of Iran Sadruddin Muhammad Shirâzy, better known as Mulla Sadrâ, is one of the philosophers who enhanced Islamic philosophy with his new ideas. The famous philosopher with his doctrines, such as fundamentality of existence, gradation of existence, trans-substantial motion etc, by giving a unique explanation for the problem of resurrection, tried to solve this problematic matter of philosohy and religion.Sadrâ appeared with a new theory in Islamic philosophy proving resurrection using main principles of his own philosophy. Whereas, no one could give rational statement to the bodily resurrection. Sadrâ found the idea of resurrection without body insufficient, which was supported by philosophers and agreed with the idea of the soul-body unity for resurrection. According to him soul and body are two parts of one thing. They have extreme togetherness and it is impossible to divide them from each other. Body is the property of the soul and its modifying is possible as an outcome of trans-substantial motion, but even though the soul will not be without body in any realm. The afterlife body is an embodiment of person's actions, and its maker will be the soul itself. According to Sadrâ, imagination remains alive after the death of a physical body, because of being abstract, and soul will imagine itself according to its substantive form. The afterlife body is not a physical matter, but it is bodily, so it has dimensions. Nevertheless, in point of philosophical identity, there is no difference between these two bodies.Key Words: Mulla Sadrâ, Resurrection, Afterlife, Trans-substantial motion, Abstract imagination.
