Özet

Hybrid polymers are mostly composite materials consisting of organic and inorganic parts. The combination of organic and inorganic components into a single material results in completely new properties and advantages. These new properties also create new uses for hybrid materials. Gels are viscoelastic materials with a crosslinked network. Due to their spaces in the network structure, they have the property of swelling in solvents. Gels that can swell by incorporating organic solvents are called as organogels, and because of their high solvent absorption capacity, they can be used as absorbents.Within the scope of this thesis; 1,10-decanediol monomer and crosslinkers with different functional end groups were used. The syntheses were carried out by a single step condensation reaction without the use of any catalyst, solvent or activating agent. The swelling tests of these synthesized gels in ten different petroleum based solvents were performed and their absorption capacities were determined. Structural characterizations of the gels were conducted by FT-IR, solid state 13C and 29Si CPMAS NMR. Thermal properties of polymers were investigated by Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) and surface morphologies were examined by SEM-EDS.

Hibrit polimerler genellikle yapısında organik ve inorganik kısımlardan oluşan kompozit materyallerdir. Organik ve inorganik komponentlerin tek bir malzemede birleşmesi ile tamamen yeni özelliklere ve avantajlara sahip malzemeler oluşmaktadır. Bu yeni özellikler de hibrit malzemeler için yeni kullanım alanları ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Jeller çapraz bağlı ağ yapıya sahip viskoelastik yapıda materyallerdir. Ağ yapıdaki boşlukları sayesinde solventlerde şişme özelliğine sahiptirler. Organik solventleri bünyesine alarak şişebilen jeller organojellerdir ve yüksek solvent absorpsiyon kapasiteleri sayesinde absorbent olarak kullanılabilirler.Bu tez çalışması kapsamında; 1,10-dekandiol monomeri ile farklı fonksiyonel uç gruplara sahip çapraz bağlayıcılar kullanılmıştır. Sentezler herhangi bir katalizör, solvent ya da aktive edici bir madde kullanılmaksızın tek basamaklı kondenzasyon tepkimesi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sentezlenen jellerin petrol kökenli 10 farklı solventteki şişme testleri yapılıp absorpsiyon kapasiteleri belirlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda jellerin yapısal karakterizasyonları FT-IR, katı hal 13C ve 29Si CPMAS NMR ile yapılmıştır. Polimerlerin termal özellikleri ise Termal Gravimetrik Analiz (TGA) yöntemiyle, yüzey morfolojileri ise SEM-EDS ile incelenmiştir.
