This study was carried as an exploratory survey in the city center of Isparta province in Turkey, in order to determine the effect of spousal support on life quality of women after childbirth. The sample of the study was 301 postnatal women who were registered in 11 of the various family health centers in Isparta between 01.07.2014 and 31.11.2014. Data were collected using a survey consisting of 31 demographic questions, Postpartum Life Quality (MAPP-QOL) questionnaire, and the Spousal Support Scale. Data were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis H Test, Mann-Whitney U Test and Spearman correlation analysis in the 16th edition of IBM SPSS. Results of the analyzes showed that the average score of MAPP-QOL score of participants was 15.20 ±0.10, and the average general spousal support score was 71.12 ±9.97. According to the results there is a medium and positive correlation between general spousal support and postpartum life quality (r = 0.530), which was statistically significant at p < .05. It is suggested that in order to increase spousal support and life quality of women, there should be more courses training both pregnant women and their spouses about childbirth and afterwards, and also husbands should be encouraged to give the necessary support to their pospartum wives at home. Keywords: Postpartum, spousal support, life quality.
