Colour has been a phenomenon since ancient times that people attach significant emphasis. Psychologists probe the effect of colour to psyche; physicists explore the colour as light; designers handle colours part of the architecture in an estetic way.Colour is not an explanative component by itself. By creating perspective feeling in a place, it underlines forms and figures, and affects the perception of the volume. When a colour is utilized on the facade of a building, its environment and architectural function is quite important. On the other hand, when it is utilized an indoor, then the fuction of the place and other utilized architectural elements bares significance. Furthermore, colour becomes more effective providing it is harmonized with other such components as the type, shape, texture of a material and illumination. In short, it is impossible to determine solely the colour phenomenon; it ought to be evaluated with the effect of other components. Therefore, it is important to decide on which stepof the design the colour is to be selected.Besides its effects in architecture, its psychological effect on users is undoubtedly quite significant in affecting their quality of life. At this juncture, the style and taste, age of the users and the utilization aim of the place ought to be known with best perception. In order to be able to assure the effect desired to be created and use the colour in true place in a true way, such issues effective in colour selection as function of the construction, users, duration of utilization, illumination conditions, size of the place, utilized materials, architectural style of the construction and its environmental features have to be questioned. In order for colour to harmonize and suit with the design, it has to be utilized by based on scientific foundations and it should be reminded that colour is an indispensable part of the design.
