Different macroeconomic variables are used in determining levels of welfare in different countries. Many indices have to be studied together to bring out more profound analyses on welfare. Through the studies of these indices, it is important to involve economic, political and socio-economic factors within. Such indications can be cited as follows: the human development index, the dissatisfaction index which indicates inflation and unemployment rates, the economic freedom index which shows the freedom of countries regarding fundamental economic structures, and the political freedom index which shows the effects of changes in policies.Human development is important in reaching political and social ends, economic resources, and increased life standards. Based upon the nature of the dissatisfaction index, being simple and easy to understand, it is utilized by many institutions and organizations. Despite the fact that this index is more concerned with the outcomes of the economy, the conclusions out of the index are not only economic but also politically and socially important. Terrorist incidents, regional instabilities or areas where conflicts are prevalent cause unemployment and inflation to be high, causing discontent index values to be accordingly high. There are many examples to this situation, which can be found in many places worldwide. The main purpose of this study is to show how relativity, political stability, economic freedom, global peace and life satisfaction are related to human development. For this purpose, indices will be explained first. The points that the countries have taken will be studied according to the changes in human development indices. The analysis section of this study is structured on explaining the relationship between economic and political factors and human development. According to the results, with exclusion of deviation of observation values, results are appropriate for the political stability and economic freedom index of economic expectations of the argument; whereas, in contrast with the economic expectations, the dissatisfaction index gives positive results. In other words, according to the theory, the decrease in the dissatisfaction is expected to increase the human development, while it is concluded that the results do not coincide with the theory. Global peace and life satisfaction indices which are included in the analysis have seemingly a negative relationship with the human development index which is a dependent variable. Yet, as compatible with the theory and analysis-based results, this study reaches the conclusion that the positive developments in economic freedom and political stability indices give a positive contribution to human development.KEYWORDS: Human Development Index, Dissatisfaction Index, Life Satisfaction, Political Stability, Economic Freedom.
