MOBILE INVISIBLE DATA MATRIX PROCESSING ON CLOUDMehmet Taha MERAL Erciyes University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Computer Engineering, Master of Science Thesis, August 2017Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Dervis KARABOGAABSTRACTNowadays, the illegal production and smuggling of medical drugs, liquor and tobacco products causes serious tax losses or public health problems. In order to prevent the sale of smuggled and counterfeit drugs and Tekel products, and to make the detection of these products easily, recently Tekel products sold in markets are required to put invisible data matrix on them. This data matrix can only read through a special reader under a specific wavelength of light. Due to reasons like this hand-held terminals distributed to the instructors to be imported from abroad, their physical dimensions, their expensive price and requirement of special training for the use, this data matrix reader terminals cannot be easily carried and given to each mobile law enforcement authority units. This thesis presents a new method that decode the invisible data matrix in a single step by using the circle detection algorithms which differs from the traditional methods that has two steps including L-shape detection and decoding. Based on the results, Two-stage Circular Hough Transform shows the best performance. The system has been reached a robust structure with error correction algorithm on the decoding phase and the Levenshtein Distance algorithm on the server side.
