The concept of `Utopia` includes both the meanings of `no-place` and `good-place`. The relation of these two meanings can be understood with reference to the search and demand of justice which emerges from the political dimension of the concept. Thus utopia can indicate the other one/new precisely due to this equivocation of meaning as the dream of a just society. But saying utopia is the dream of a just society does not mean excluding it from history and preventing its political interpretation by ignoring its practical concerns. Hence, utopia is a search and demand of justice which can be understood in the relation with the historical.Utopia is in dual relation with the historical. First it is a critique of the given. Secondly, it is the possibility that it can be different from what it is. That utopia is a critique of the given shows that it is not extrinsic to the historical but also that it is not determined by it. Utopia, in the sense of possibility of being different, is understood as pursuing a new socialness in terms of giving a dimension of future to history in other words exceeding the boundaries of the historical. This is the emancipatory aspect of utopia which emerges in the dreaming capacity of human mindModern notion of utopia which Thomas More created the first from preceding utopist thought by these two aspects: emancipator and critical. Because in the utopist themes and forms that we encountered such as Golden Era and Heaven myths, the millennium belief and also in the conception of ideal society, there was a reference to a principle which transcend humans that excludes the natural capacities of human. But with More, utopia will be conceived from natural capacities of human. On the other hand, More in his representation of just society and justice differs from preceding representations of them. Thus More defines his concept of justice from his representation of commonwealth with a new reference, which does not transcend human. This reference is the activity of labor. As labor becomes a reference for the description of justice, it reverses the traditional hierarchy of the concept good. Thus good which was a principle that is conceived by contemplation and transcended this earth, became a principle which is understood by the activity.More's representation of new society, new conception of human and new understanding of justice, which emerges by the objectification of common good and common property in labor, predicts modern society. Briefly, the new justice, which is defined by reference to labor, requires supplying natural-necessary needs of humans, equal distribution of goods and satisfactory consumption. But this transforms the public space to field of necessity, which is surrounded by economical activities about supplying natural-necessary needs, equal distribution of goods and satisfactory consumption. This situation leads to the dying-down of public space and the instrumentalization of politics by reducing it to the activity of managing of labor process. The coming together of people over natural-necessary needs results in labor society. In this new representation of society all practices of life are planned to serve the common good. planning is about rationalization of time and space. Because of this planning, the contingency of political life is excluded and differences are reduced to the common interest of society. But the political value of Utopia does neither rely on its description of organization of labor, nor in its demonstration of the fact that a perfect society does not aim to abolish politics. Because, Utopia can neither be reduced to a political program nor to a completed social model. The political value of Utopia relies on its distance to truth and the historical, and also in its emphasis of critique and emancipator capacity of human.

Oysa More ile birlikte, ütopya artık insanın kendi doğal-insansal kapasitelerinden hareketle düşünülecektir. Diğer taraftan More, kendi adil toplum tasarımında ve adalet kavrayışında da gerek kendisinden önceki adil toplum tasarımlarından gerekse de adalet kavrayışlarından ayrılmaktadır. Nitekim More adalet kavrayışını, tasvirini yaptığı ortak refah tasarımından hareketle, insana aşkın olmayan yeni bir referansla tarif etmiştir.
