Özet

In this study, conductive composites of poiypyrrole-coated polystyrenes having different partide size were synthesized by Chemical oxidative polymerization in aqueous medium. In synthesis of homopolymer and composites iron (III) chloride, FeCb, was used as an oxidant. Polymerization and structures of composites were supported by FT-IR analyses. From elemental analyses, it has been shown that weight percentages of C and H elements increase while weight percentage of N element decreases in composite when they are compared with those of PPy. This also confirms that PS was found in composite structure. From mass magnetic susceptibility measurements, due to positive mass magnetic susceptibility values of PPy and composites, it was detected that they have polaron conduction mechanism. The morphologies of the particles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The thermal stability of PS/PPy composites was investigated by thermogravimetric (TGA) analyses, and thermal stability of conductivity during heating-cooling cycles and constant heating processes was investigated by four probe equipment. PS(166nm)/PPy composite has the highest conductivity value among ali composites (0,6043 S/cm). PS/PPy composites had shown better thermal stability than PPy and PS by exception of PS(114nm)/PPy composite.Key Words: Polypyrrole, Polystyrene, Nano particules, Composite.

Bu çalışmada, farklı tanecik boyutlarına sahip PS'lerin PPy ile kaplanmış iletken kompozitleri kimyasal yükseltgenme metodu ile sulu ortamda sentezlendi. Homopolimer ve kompozitlerin sentezinde yükscltgen madde olarak demir (III) klorür, FeCL kullanıldı. Polimerleşme ve kompozitlerin yapısı FT-IR analizleri ile desteklenmiştir. Elemental analizde, C, H ve N elementlerinin PPy'deki kütlece yüzdeleri ile karşılaştırıldığı zaman, kompozitteki C ve H elementlerinin kütlece yüzdesi artarken, N elementinin kütlece yüzdesinin azaldığı görülmüştür. Bu da kompozit yapısına PS'nin girdiğini desteklemektedir. Kütle magnetik suseptibilite ölçümlerinden, tüm kompozitlerin ve PPy homopolimerinin pozitif kütle magnetik suseptibilite değerlerine dolayısıyla polaron iletme mekanizmasına sahip olduğu belirlendi. Taneciklerin morfolojileri taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) ile aydınlatılmıştır. PS/PPy kompozitlcrinin termal kararlılığı, termogravimetrik (TGA) analizi ile incelenirken, iletkenliğin termal kararlılığı ısıtma-soğutma döngüleri süresince ve sabit sıcaklık işlemlerinde alman iletkenlik Ölçümleri de dört nokta cihazı ile incelendi. Bütün kompozitler arasında en yüksek iletkenlik değerine (0,6043 S/cm) PS(166nm)/PPy kompoziti sahiptir. PS(114nm)/PPy kompoziti hariç diğer PS/PPy kompozitleri PPy ve PS'den daha iyi termal kararlılık göstermiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Polipirol, Polistiren, Nano tanecikler, Kompozit.
