ABSTRACTTHE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LIFE QUALITY AND SEXUALITY IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING CHEMOTHERAPYAim: This research was carried out as a cross-sectional and correlational study to determine the relationship between the life quality and sexuality in patients undergoing chemotherapy.Material and Method: The research population consisted of 410 oncology outpatients undergoing chemotherapy at Ondokuz Mayis University Health, Research and Application Hospital between 25.06.2017-25.12.2017. Research data was collected by the researcher using the patient information form prepared based on the literature, FACT-G Life Quality Assessment Scale, Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale forms for women and men and the Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale. The congruence of the data with normal distribution, was studied using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney U test and Pearson Chi square test were used when comparing the data not congruent with the normal distribution. Spearman correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between the sub-dimensions of the scales. Results: It was seen that 57.6% of the patients consisted of women and 42.4% of them consisted of men; 85.1% of them were unemployed; 41.5% of them had a chronic disease; 24% of them were diagnosed with breast cancer; 39.8% of them were in the second clinical stage of their disease and 21% of the patients were suffering from metastasis. FACT-G Life Quality Assessment Scale point average of the patients was 76.9 ± 16.2 and Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale point average was 26.4±6.5. In Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale, the highest scores were obtained at the sub-dimensions of fatigue, anorexia, anxiety and sorrow, respectively. Conclusion: It was found that, as the total scores obtained by the patients in FACT-G Life Quality Assessment Scale increased, the total scores obtained in all sub-dimensions of Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale and Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale decreased. On the other hand; as the total scores obtained by the patients in Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale increased, the scores obtained in the fatigue and anorexia sub-dimensions of Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale increased. Keywords: Chemotherapy; Cancer; Life quality; Oncology; Sexuality;Ebru AYDIN, Master ThesisOndokuz Mayıs University Samsun, June-2018.

ÖZETKEMOTERAPİ TEDAVİSİ GÖREN HASTALARDA YAŞAM KALİTESİ İLE CİNSEL YAŞAM ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİAmaç: Bu araştırma kemoterapi tedavisi gören hastalarda yaşam kalitesi ile cinsel yaşam arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacıyla kesitsel ve ilişki arayıcı bir çalışma olarak yürütüldü.Materyal ve Metot: Araştırmanın evrenini 25.06.2017-25.12.2017 tarihleri arasında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Sağlık Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi kemoterapi ünitesinde ayaktan tedavi gören 410 onkoloji hastası oluşturdu. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan hastayı tanıtıcı bilgi formu, FACT-G Yaşam Kalitesi Değerlendirme Ölçeği, Arizona Cinsel Yaşantılar Ölçeği kadın ve erkek formu ve Edmonton Semptom Tanılama Ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Verilerin normal dağılıma uygunluğu Kolmogorov Simirnov testi ile incelendi. Normal dağılıma uymayan verilerin karşılaştırılmasında Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney U testi ve Pearson Ki-kare testi kullanıldı. Ölçeklerin alt boyutları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesinde Spearman korelasyon analizinden yararlanıldı.Bulgular: Hastaların %57,6'sını kadınların, %42,4'ünü erkeklerin oluşturduğu, %85,1'inin çalışmadığı, %41,5'inin kronik bir hastalığa sahip olduğu, %24'ünün meme kanseri tanısı aldığı, hastaların %39,8'inin hastalığın 2. klinik evresinde olduğu ve hastaların %21'inde metastaz geliştiği belirlendi. Hastaların FACT-G Yaşam Kalitesi Değerlendirme Ölçeği puan ortalaması 76,9 ± 16,2, Arizona Cinsel Yaşantılar Ölçeği puan ortalaması 26,4±6,5 olarak belirlendi. Hastaların Edmonton Semptom Tanılama Ölçeği'nden en yüksek puanı sırasıyla yorgunluk, iştahsızlık, endişe ve üzüntü alt boyutlarından aldıkları saptandı.Sonuç: Hastaların FACT-G Yaşam Kalitesi Değerlendirme Ölçeği toplam puanı arttıkça Arizona Cinsel Yaşantılar Ölçeği toplam puanı ve Edmonton Semptom Tanılama Ölçeği tüm alt boyut puanlarının azaldığı belirlendi. Ayrıca hastaların Arizona Cinsel Yaşantılar Ölçeği toplam puanı arttıkça, Edmonton Semptom Tanılama Ölçeği Yorgunluk ve İştahsızlık alt boyut puanlarının arttığı görüldü.Anahtar Kelimeler: Cinsellik; Kanser; Kemoterapi;Onkoloji; Yaşam kalitesi.Ebru AYDIN, Yüksek Lisans TeziOndokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Samsun, Haziran-2018.
