As a result of excavations carried out within the boundaries of Atatürk District in Foça within the last ten years two important finding areas were found. In relation with these findings, the first of these sectors were called as Ceramics Warehouse Area and the second as ceramics Dumpster Area.A ceramics group which was dense and contextual and was used forthe stabilization of the soil, was encountered in the Caly Pool, which was uncovered as a result of the efforts in the Workshop Area. Above these coarse kitchen ware, made up of the Kythra and Lopas, scattred pottery discs were found. The second finding area during our studies is a ceramics dumpster ares which keeps more important data. As a result of the excavations by four different openings ceramics group form the first to the seventh century were found. These sequential layers, which belong to different time periods, revealed very important data forthe chronology and the typology of the Roman Ceramics. As a result of the excavations carried out in each of the two areas and invertory activities, coarse potteries were grouped and each of them were categorized to include their own sub-types. So, a cache memory was created for coarse pottery groups, such as kythra, lopas, shallow cup, mug, etc. which were definetely though to be made in Foça.As a result of the studies carried out in new areas, some new results which were of owned by red-glazed ceramics groups were found.According to the studies carried out so far, the production area of the LRC Group high quality ceramics, of which production area was not definite so far, was stated as Foça after this thesis Project. Furthermore, the new sub-types and new forms of these pots, which were evaluated in a chronological order bye J. Hayes, were identified during our studies. In addition to that, contrary to the general belief, it was understood that the production of red-glazed ceramics in Foça did not began in the fourth century, but in the third century.

Foça'da son on yıl içerisinde yürütülen kazı çalışmaları sonucunda Atatürk Mahallesi sınırları içerisinde iki önemli buluntu alanı tespit edildi.
