Badminton is a sports branch for which alactic anaerobic system and a little lactic anaerobic metabolism are needed in terms of physiology and which is based on fast movements. Individuals who are engaged in this sport need to have features such as aerobic, anaerobic and high concentration. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between some fatigue parameters and lactate that occur during a competition in elite and non-elite badminton players and make contribution to both literature and scientific preparations of the athletes related to the issue. The study has been conducted witha total of 28 badminton players, 14 of whom are elite badminton players (7 male, 7 female) and 14 of whom are non-elite badminton players (7 male, 7 female). The groups were formed in the following way (1stgroup Elite female, 2ndgroup Non-elite female, 3rdgroup Elite maleand 4thgroup Non-elite male). Athletes who are involved in the study participated in a competition type training once with the athletes who are in the same weight class with them. A total of 3 competitions were evaluated in the study (1. before the game, 2. at the end of the first set, 3. at the end of the game). Physiological and psychological measurements were made in this study. Blood samples were taken from earlobes in order to determine the lactic acid concentration in the blood, dropped on strips and lactate was analyzed by using a blood lactate analyzer. It has been found that badminton competitions cause an increase in the heart rate, blood pressureand lactic acid levels and it causes a decrease in the grip strength and visual reaction time values of both male and female athletes. It is concluded that these changes are high levels in women compared to men and elite athletes compared to the non-elite athletes.Key words : Badminton Player, Lactic acid, Elite, Competition.
