Along with the increasing environmental problems, sustainable development and environment debates have increased since the middle of the 20th century and energy conservation and nature oriented design ideas such as energy efficient design, passive design, low energy structures, zero energy structures, ecological architecture and sustainable architecture have begun to be discussed in architecture. The fact that the largest part of the energy consumed in the world is being used by the buildings that has brought the principle of energy efficiency and saving principle to the agenda. `Passive House` concept has emerged from the idea of constructing a building needs zero energy and then `certification systems have been developed to make their activities measurable and being standardized while these constructions especially developed and spread in Europe and America. In this thesis study; new and existing buildings which have required criteria to build with `passive house` standards has examined and referred to the passive house applications constructed in Turkey. It is aimed to determine the advantages and disadvantages of the standards that are used in implementation and post-constructions problems encountered in Turkey. For this purpose, new and existing buildings that have received passive house certification in abroad have been examined and their performances have been tabulated. The problems encountered in building construction process in terms of the passive house criteria have been identified by the results of evaluation of compared data obtained from Gaziantep Ecological House and Gaziantep Incubation Center buildings which have received `passive house certificate` from the new and existing buildings category from Turkey. It has been determined that, mainly the lack of building materials in the local market to meet the standard and/or the cost of the tests to be done for the certification of the local material has pushed the local producers. The technical team required for the commissioning of the devices used in construction is insufficient. In order to increase energy efficiency in the buildings and to develop passive house strategies, sanctions and audits should be developed, government-supported incentives should be increased, and society should be able to eliminate the lack of information on this subject and establish supply and demand balances.
