Throughout history, belief systems which arose from the needs for humans in order to explain the things that they could not understand, and to feel themselves in safe, have begun to influence in all areas of the society in time. With adopting a sedentary life of the Ancient Age societies, the things that connected to the existence of a sacred power, created the basis of the religious belief system. The religious belief system had a polytheistic structure in the Ancient Age Civilizations and the system had influenced the societies and the states that they had established. In the ancient Mesopotamia, the religious belief system that had become systematic with the Sumerians, meet with the Sami's culture by the political power of the Sami tribe and got the power with the Akkadian became the dominant language. The Assyrian religious belief system, which was influenced by Babylon at first, represented to the tradition and culture of Sumerian with the political development of Assyrian. However, after the Assyrians emerged in Mesopotamia, gaining the political power gave a chance to gain a different dimension to the religious belief systems. The Assyrian religious belief systems which had peak with Assyria the God who gave the name to the state and the country, were quite important in strengthening the dominance of the kings and their colonial activities. The warrior feature distinguishes Assyria the God from the other Mesopotamian gods is remarkable. Statements in almost every text prove that the wars which the Assyrians regard as the God's command, always happened by the witness and the support of the Gods. Military and political policies were supported by the God who was the most important factor and Assyrian imperialist foreign policy gained a legitimate ground by the influence of Assyria the God. The religious factor put into politicization process with the Assyrians, constitutes the first and the most remarkable example of imperialism being supported by religious beliefs. It seems that religious beliefs which have been adopted by many civilizations till the present day, have a shaping role in the state politics. Statements in documentaries such as many cuneiform script text belongs to the Assyrians period, the annuals telling the military campaigns of the kings and the temple inscriptions give us to chance to evaluate the effect of the religious belief systems on the politics of that era.
