Down the ages theatre, an important area of both education and entertainment, gives children 'an opportunity to read the world'. It is a major histrionics that can be used to change child education and training positively. One of the most important institutions to offer training opportunity for children is the State Theatre. Doing professional work, it appeals to a wide audience with its plays. Because the children's plays staged at the State Theatre are as an example to other plays, it is the subject of our research. Another subject of our research is to analyse the following issues; `Theatre in Turkey`, `Historical Development of Children's Theatre in Turkey`, `Theatre in Bursa`, `Children's Theatre in Bursa`, `and `Language in Children's Theatre`. In our research, 26 children's play texts staged from the foundation date of Bursa State Theatre till 2000 (including 2000) have been examined from various angles. Five of them are foreign, while the rest twenty-one are local. They have been evaluated under these headings; Content and Form, Characters, Plot, Language and Style, and if any Attendance. The data about attendance was obtained from the Box Office Revenue Book of Bursa State Theatre. Other data about all the plays is not available in this book. This study examines the appropriateness of the theatre plays which are staged for the children. In addition to this, it will be a guide to the materials prepared for children to address their sense of universe and to the authors, educators and experts who will give materials in the field of children's literature and of theatre genres. We also agree to include the section called `Educational Concepts Featured in Plays` in our study, because of the undeniable importance of the concept in the child's world.
