In this study, the enrichment of the graphite ores fromdifferent origins by the ways of flotation, heavy medium, leaching and alkaliroasting processes were analysed. The research was realised through thesamples of Kastamonu- nebolu, Yozgat-Akdağmadeni, Balıkesir-Demirkapı,Konya-Çoraklıdere, Kütahya-Altıntaş and Konya-Mülayimköy.In the enrichment of the graphite samples with flotation; the pH offlotation, the amount of depressant, the amount of the collector, the amountof the frother, the time of the flotation, the ratio of solid and the size ofparticle, in the enrichment of the graphite samples with the heavy medium;the effects of the parameters of the density of the heavy medium and the sizeof the particle, in the acid leaching studies; the effects of the concentration ofthe acid, the temperature of the leaching and the time of the leaching, and inthe study of the alkali roasting processes; the effects of the temperature of theroasting, the amount of the NaOH, the ratio of the liquid/solid, theconcentration of H2SO4 and HCl were studied upon.In the enrichment with flotation, necessary recovery and grade couldnot be reached and the obtained concentrations were evaluated as the roughconcentrations. Enrichment with heavy medium method also could not besuccessful; so from none of the examined graphite sample the necessaryrecovery and grade could be reached. As the result of the acid leachingstudies and the alkali roasting processes; partial increases occurred in thegrades of the graphite concentrates. However; concentrates, which havehigher grade for the use of the industry, could not be produced. Flotationprocedure was applied over the acid leaching and alkali roasting productsobtained in the optimum conditions, the final graphite concentrations wereobtained and the enrichment flow schemes were given. When the graphitic carbon grades were taken into consideration, theconcentrations from Kastamonu- nebolu and Yozgat-Akdağmadeni, whichwere obtained by flotation + acid leaching + flotation methods, werefavorable for the foundry industry; whereas the concentrations from theKütahya-Altıntaş, which were obtained by flotation + alkali roastingprocesses + flotation methods, were suitable for the graphite standard whichare recommended for the conductive covering industry.KEY WORDS : Graphite, flotation, heavy medium, acid leaching, alkaliroasting.

Grafitik karbon tenörleri dikkate alındığında; Kastamonu- nebolu veYozgat-Akdağmadeni numunelerine uygulanan flotasyon + asit liç işlemi +flotasyon yöntemleriyle elde edilen konsantrelerinin döküm; Kütahya-Altıntaş numunesine uygulanan flotasyon + alkali kavurma + flotasyonyöntemleriyle elde edilen konsantrelerin ise iletken kaplama sanayindeistenilen grafit standardına uygun grafit konsantreleri olduğu sonucunaulaşılmıştır.ANAHTAR KEL MELER : grafit, flotasyon, ağır ortam, asit liç işlemi, alkalikavurma.
