The mathematical model of the double inverted pendulum system is obtained by using Lagrange's equation of motion. The system is linearized around the unstable equilibrium point in order to apply LQR control, digital control and root locus based control schemes. Ttransfer function and state space model of the linearized system is obtained in order to apply various controlller types. Various types of controllers are designed in order to control the system which is described by both nonlinear and linear models. Computer simulations were carrid out for obtaining the system behaviour corresponding to various controller types applied. mControllers are designed for LQR (Linear Quadratic Control) control, digital control, PID control, fuzzy control and root locus based control. MATLAB/Fuzzy Toolbox/Simulink softwares were used in the computer simulations. Performance of the linearized system with different controller types (LQR control, digital control, PID control and root locus based control) are discussed and compared with each other. In addition, system performance of double pendulum system with fuzzy and PID controllers were are discussed and compared with each other. Key Words : Double Inverted Pendulum, LQR Control, Digital Control, Root Locus Method, PID Control, Fuzzy Control, The control of the double inverted pendulum IV.

Seri tipteki çift ters sarkaç sisteminin matematiksel modeli Lagrange hareket denklemi kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. LQR kontrol, sayısal kontrol ve kök yer eğrisi tabanlı kontrolör uygulanması amacıyla sistem kararsız denge noktası etrafında doğrusallaştırılmış, doğrusallaştırılmış modelin transfer fonksiyonu ile durum uzay modeli elde edilmiştir. Doğrusallaştrılmamış model ve doğrusallaştırılmış model kullanılarak tanımlanan sistemin kontrolü amacıyla farklı türlerde kontrolörler tasarlanmış, tasarlanan kontrolörler için sayısal simülasyon yapılarak farklı kontrol türleri uygulanması durumundaki sistem davranışı incelenmiştir. Tasarımı yapılan kontrolörler LQR (Linear Quadratic Control), sayısal kontrol (Digital Control), PID kontrol, bulanık (fuzzy) kontrol türlerinde olup kök yer eğrisi yöntemiyle de bir kontrolör tasarımı yapılmıştır. Sayısal simülasyonda MATLAB/Fuzzy Toolbox/Simulink yazılımları kullanılmıştır.kontrolör tasarımı yapılmıştır. Sayısal simülasyonda MATLAB/Fuzzy Toolbox/Simulink yazılımları kullanılmıştır. Tasannu yapılan LQR kontrol, sayısal kontrol, PID kontrol ve kök yer eğrisi tabanlı kontrolörlerin doğrusallaştırılmış sisteme uygulanması durumlarına ait sistem performanstan karşılaştırılmıştır. Aynca, doğrusallaştırılmamış gerçek sistemde bulanık ve PID türündeki kontrolörler kullanılması durumlarına ait sistem performansı da karşılaştırılmıştır.
