In this thesis, we investigate the properties of the ideal convergence which is a generalization of ordinary convergence and statistical convergence, and the phi-convergence which is a special method of summability. We also investigate the relations between these two concepts and obtain some main results. The thesis consists of seven chapters. In the first chapter, historical background of these convergence types is presented. In the second chapter, the concepts of asymptotic density, uniform density and the logarithmic density of a set of natural numbers are recalled and the relations between these concepts are stated. In the third chapter, the T-summability which is defined by infinite matrices is studied. In particular, the notion of phi Euler function which is very important in number theory is considered and its basic properties are presented. Using the function, the nonnegative regular ? matrix is obtained and the phi-convergence is defined via this matrix. In the fourth chapter, the concept of A-density is considered using the nonnegative regular matrix A. If A is taken to be the ? matrix, then the concept of phi-density is obtained. In the fifth chapter, the concept of ideal in topology is considered in the setting of natural numbers and hence the notion of ideal convergence (I-convergence, briefly) of a real sequence is studied and its basic properties are investigated. In addition, some examples of ideals and thus ideal convergences defined by these ideals are given. Also the ideal I_phi which is the family of sets having zero phi-densities, and the I_phi-convergence which is defined via this family is considered, and the relation between I_phi-convergence and phi-convergence is investigated. In the sixth chapter, I_phi-continuity and phi?continuity of the functions defined on R are introduced. In the final chapter, the main results that we have obtained are presented. The notions of I_phi-limit point and I_phi-cluster point are introduced and the relation between these concepts is investigated. Moreover, the relations between the space of I_phi-convergent sequences and the space of phi-convergent sequences are investigated.
