In fictions, time and place are the milestones of the literal works. In the beginning, these two concepts were being evaluated separately while novels and stories were being examined. According to Russian critic, Mihail Bahtin, time and place are have a strong relation with one another and they can't be thought as apart. So, he came up with chronotope concept based on the theory of relativitiy of Albert Einstein. He also carried out to the literature the chronotope that has meaning as togetherness of time-extension. Bahtin comes up with some chronotopes based on the novels he analyzes. These are road-encountering, hick town, castle, guest room-living room, thresold etc. Bahtin indicates that more different chronotopes can be defined by analyzing time-space values in different literature works. As a result, in this study, the chronotopes such as square, door, corner, basement-attic, wardrope-drawer-chest are also mentioned under the title of `Other Chronotopes`. In this study, based on the concept of chronotope of Mihail Bahtin, time-space relations in literary text of Oğuz Atay examined and the functions of them are defined. The chronotope road-encountering takes part to activate the act of encounter, separation and thinking in narrative of Oguz Atay. The chronotope hick town provides the escape request of the person who wants to go to a quieter place and gets bored of plays in the city life. The chronotope castle doesn't take apart in the narrative of Oguz Atay. The chronotope guest room-living room are the places that persons who never can't feel appurtenant in and the people are timid and uneasy in this chronotope. But its important in point of testifying unconscious process. The chronotope thresold are encountered in narrative of Oguz Atay. Persons pass many turning points (threshold in this case) but the most important one is to lose one's grip. Other chronotopes are used with different functions in the text of Oguz Atay. In addition, new chronotopes also had been found in narrative of Oguz Atay and they had been clarified with their functions. These chronotopes are slum, ginmill-dinner table, bed, train and showcase.
