ABSTRACTNowadays, remote control of mobile robot applications in industrial, health care, military andetc. fields over the widely used Internet network backbone is an important concept. AnInternet gateway system integrated to the required radio communication system is proposedand demonstration application of proposed system is also realized for this aim.A short-range wireless communication protocol which is designed for the low bandwidthdigital communication between controllers and sensors in industrial control systems isadapted to mobile robots. The hardware and software subsystems of the required systemwhich routes radio network to Internet network, are designed and realized into an integratedworking demonstration of the adapted system. The proposed system in this thesis provides peer to peer connection over Internet with lowcost and low power advantage can be used as a communication infrastructure in Internetaccessible mobile robot systems which would have to be realized with limited budgets. Keywords: Mobile robot, radio communication, control over Internet, remote control.x.
