The study was conducted with a pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design with control group to determine the effect of traditional children games on internet addiction, social skill and stress level. The population of the study consisted of fifth and sixth grade students studying at two secondary schools. A total of 42 students, 20 in the intervention group and 22 in the control group, were included in the study. 'Personal information form', 'family-child internet addiction scale', 'social skills assessment scale', 'social skills scale' and 'perceived stress scale in children (8-11 years)' were used to collect the data. The intervention group received eight weeks of traditional children games. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, class, father education level, family type, income level (p > 0,05). It was found that there was no significant difference between the intervention and control group in terms of internet usage time, social skills and stress level in the pre-test (p > 0,05), that there was a statistically significant difference in terms of daily and weekly internet use and social skills in the post-test (p < 0,05) and that there was no statistically significant difference in terms of stress level (p > 0,05). According to the findings of the study, it was concluded that traditional children games are effective in reducing internet usage and increasing social skills but do not affect stress level. Therefore, school health nurses can use traditional children games for protection and promotion of children's health.
