This study includes comparing the biometric parameters of the Nummulites perforatus species with the classical statistics for the areas in the field, and the investigation of the evolution and migration phenomena. The selected areas are Çayraz Formation from Haymana Basin in Ankara and Asartepe Formation from Darende Basin in Malatya. A total of 269 samples were examined from both areas. Artificial neural networks methods were used in this evolutionary comparison. Incomplete biometric parameters which were damaged or not measured during fossilization, transportation or sample preparation in the laboratory were completed. The successful completed prediction process showed the contribution of ANN methods in paleontological problems. Statistical studies were performed more accurately with the completed data. As a result, the biometric parameters increased from west to east. According to paleogeographia studies, it is known that the Tethys ocean extends from west to east in the middle Eocene. Accordingly, Nummulites perforatus specimen followed this expansion with a slow migration in the marine waters.

Bu çalışma Nummulites perforatus türünün, seçilen alanlar için, biyometrik parametrelerinin klasik istatistik yöntemleri ile karşılaştırılıp, evrim ve göç olayları bakımından değerlendirilmesini içerir. Bunun için seçilen alanlar Ankara ilinde yer alan Haymana Havzasından Çayraz Formasyonu ve Malatya ilinde yer alan Darende Havzasından Asartepe Formasyonu'dur. Her iki alandan toplam 269 örnek incelenmiştir. Bu evrimsel karşılaştırma gerçekleştirilirken Yapay Sinir Ağları yöntemlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Fosilleşme, taşınma ya da labrotuvarda örnek hazırlama sırasında zarar gören ya da ölçülemeyen biyometrik parametrelerin eksik olanları tamamlanmıştır. Yapılan başarılı eksik tamamlama işlemi paleontolojik problemlerde YSA yöntemlerinin katkısını göstermiştir. Tamamlanan verilerle birlikte istatistik çalışmaları daha doğru bir şekilde yapılmıştır. Bunun sonucunda biyometrik parametrelerde batıdan doğuya doğru artış görülmüştür. Paleocoğrafya çalışmalarına göre, Tetis okyanusunun Orta Eosen'de batıdan doğuya doğru genişlediği bilinmektedir. Buna göre Nummulites perforatus türü deniz sularında yavaş bir göçle bu genişlemeyi takip etmiştir.
