Corresponding to the incremental fuel costs, modifications on the hull form for decreasing the hull resistance comes into question in the ship building industry. One of these modifications is the application of bulbous bows which are used for decreasing the hull resistance and also for increasing the hull?s speed.Bulbous bow applications for mega yachts respect to merchant ships keep in the background in the practice field. The main reason of this fact is that due to mega yachts symbolize luxury and comfort, this type of economical researches take part behind the main demands. In this study, various types of bulbous bows are applied to main mega yacht hull form. After, these forms are examined in details by using the Holtrop-Mennen power prediction method. In the next process, the effects of bulbous bows to stability and seakeeping in mega yachts are discussed. Moreover, benefits of bulbous bow applications on mega yachts are mentioned. As a result of this study, while deciding the bulbous bow type on mega yachts in the early design stages, effects to stability and to seakeeping need to be taken into account along with the resistance effect.
