The aim of this study was to examine validity and reliability Turkish form? The Obesity and Weight-Loss Quality of Life Scale?. This is a methodologicial study .Sampling of the study included 170 obese persons that body mass index was thirty and upper.Scale which has 17 item was developed by Donald L. Patrick, Donald M. Bushnell ve Margaret Rothman in 2004.The total mean score and Standard deviation of the scale were 33,72±12,15. Turkish language validity work of scale has been made by Seattle Quality of Life Group University of Washington Department of Health Services. That?s why the language validity has not been work worked again. In order to estimate scale stability between different occasions test-retest reliability was performed and it has seen that there was a strong and linear correlations between measures (r=0,97). To determine the internal consistency fort he intentory coefficient Alpha was obtained. The Cronbah Alpha coefficient of the inventory coefficient was obtained. The Cronbah Alpha inventory was 0,90.Item total correlation coefficients of scale ranged from 0,33 to 0,71 and none of the items of scale was deleted. At the result of the factor analysis of the scale one factos which can account for %62,57 of the total variance of test score was obtained. Results of test score was obtained. Results of factor analysis which have been done to test the of validity form of scale showed that form has one factors like the original scale and similar items are collected under the same factor.Synchronous/Similar scale validity method has been used for testing construct validity of scale. Therefore the relation between quality of life scale special for obese persons and SF-36 Quality of Life scale points has been examined. The values have been obtained between 0,13 and 0,46 that are varying expressive levels for sub demensions of scale. As a result it has found that ?The Obesity and Weight-Loss Quality of Life Scale? was a sufficiently valid and reliable instrument in Turkey.

Ölçeğin Türkçe dil geçerlilik çalışması Seattle Quality of Life Group University of Washington Department of Health Services tarafından yapılmıştır.
