Özet

In order to achieve accurate and consistent results in the analysis of time series data , this series should have stationarity. The existence of unit root causes the series not to be stationary. In this case lots of unit root tests were improved in the econometric literature and performance of these tests in the unit root analysis has become an important issue. The performance comparison of the unit root tests has also located on the basis of our study. For this purpose ADF, PP, KPSS and NG-Perron unit root tests were analyzed considering the number of observations and model specification. In the result of analysis , strong and accurate results were obtained as long as model spesification had right specification and there was no apparent effect of the number of observations. While NG-Perron unit root test results similar to the other three tests in high number of observations , in low number of observations even model has right spesification , it gave incorrect results in case the presence of the trend function and it caused to reject the null hypothesis and reached the conclusion that Ng Perron unit root test is not an appropriate test for models which have trend function in low number of observations. KEY WORDS :Unit root, spesification, number of observation, power of test.
