Despotism, the absolute authority or control when there should be sharing and consultation, It is also the predominance of others, control them and take what is theirs with no right, Despotism is considered a general phenomenon that all civilizations witnessed throughout different ages. This research's title: (Types of Despotism in the Ancient Arabic Poetry) cares to collect all the true poetry quotes from the ancient poetry regarding the despotism phenomenon. It studies, classifies and analyses it. The main reason to choose the research is that literature is the reality mirror. Moreover, it is that poetry is the record of Arabs (Diwan Alarab) and their news and sciences' warehouse. Actually, the right way to study Arabian life before Islam must rely on the true poetry. Despotism has not finished by the end of ignorance era and the coming of Islam, it is continuing till today in different shapes and new manners. Despotism is one notion to overcome it we must know its reasons. Thus, studying the ancient poetry will help us to know the reasons that enabled it to spread at that time and after it. The difficulties which faced me were: Despotism idiom is not edited in the modern Arabic studies according to the Arabic sources because most researchers depended on the Greek and European philosophers, beside the weak Arabic political studies in the old sources. Therefore, I had to edit the idiom and root it. In addition, there was a problem of plagiaristic studies of the ancient poetry. As a result, I had to investigate the true poetry from trusted sources. In addition to the fact that it is hard to understand this poetry, so I had to explain it and clarify it to highlight the quotation because it is spread in hundreds of big and small books of poems that are not collected in one big collection. This research comes in three parts and general introduction, this introduction is about despotism and its history and its original. The first: the political despotism The second: the religious and intellectual despotism The third: the economic and social despotism In the first chapter, I outlined what I found about despotism as per our sources. The other three chapters I offered examples of the true Ancient Arabic Poetry about despotism with its different types analyzed and explained what is ambitious in them and translated biography of the unknown poets mentioned in the research.I ended the research by a conclusion summarized the results and added recommendations; also, I appended the technical indexes to help the reader.
