The main purpose of occupational health and safety studies is to protect the health and safety of employees. For this purpose, the risks arising from the working environment and conditions and the risks that may arise as a result of these hazards should be determined in advance, in other words, risk assessment studies should be carried out. The hazards that affect the health of employees in the workplace are physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial. The first four hazard areas are easy to identify and quantify. However, the detection of psychosocial hazard areas, which are considered to be less well known but also new and increasing risk factors of occupational health and safety, is more difficult and complex than the detection of other hazard areas. The reasons for this are that the importance and awareness of the issue are very low and there is not enough work in both the legislative and academic sense. In this context, this thesis study aims to contribute to the literature by drawing attention to psychosocial hazards and risks, which are expressed as the lesser-known dimension of occupational health and safety. Depending on this main objective, the field research section of the thesis analyzed the relationship between psychosocial hazards arising from the work environment and individual, organizational, psychological and behavioral psychosocial risk symptoms experienced by employees in the three prison institutions. According to the results of the risk assessment study, it was concluded that in the D-type closed prison, there is a clear need for improvement in the areas of `change and support of superiors`, that the areas of `control, relations, demand, co-worker support` it was good but need improvement, and that in the area of `role` it was very good and should be sustained. In the Women's Open prison, it was concluded that in the areas of `change, support of superiors, control, relationships, demand, co-worker support` it was good, but needed improvement and that in the area of `role` it was very good and should be maintained. Finally, by accessing the information such as D-type open prison is good in the `in the modification of support, Control, relationships, demand the support of business colleagues` subjects but it needs improvement, it is very good in the `role, demand the support of co-workers` subjects and it should be sustained, we made suggestions for areas that require intervention.
