While agriculture sector is the main sector producing nutrition necessary for the continuation of society life, it has also a strategic position because of its contributions to the country economies. Some protective policies applied until 2nd World War in world economy caused crisis in countries and countries were negatively affected by this. Accordingly, GATT was signed in order to remove protective policies applied by the countries and causing crisis. Agriculture sector was not included in the agreement at first, but then it was included In GATT by Uruguay Round and Agriculture Agreement was signed. There was a conversion in Turkish agriculture with the help of these developments and this conversion was accelerated by technology and biotechnology. The aim of the study is to analyze the effect of policies, which are applied in globalization process, on agriculture sector and to put forward the effects of conversion in Turkish agriculture sector, experienced in globalization process, on development process. As a result of the study, all global and technological developments increased agricultural production and productivity in Turkey as a whole. In the period when industry underdeveloped, foreign currency income which was gained through agricultural product export established a background for industry and the industry gradually developed. Necessary employment for industry was fulfilled from agriculture sector. However, the change in the structure of globalized foreign trade put Turkey into an importer position in terms of agricultural product and agricultural input. Therefore, Turkey should follow policies which will increase Turkey's competitive power against foreign markets and contribute to Turkey's conversion to a exporter position from an importer position.
