Fatimids state which was founded at the beginning of the 10 th century took its place among the most important actors of the Middle Age in a short time. Trade is the most important factor in achieving this. The Fatimids, who comprehend the importance of trade, have resorted to trade protection practies until their collapse. This state, which is enriched with the income from trade, has beed politically strengthened and succeeded in seizing Egypt in line with its ideological goals. The security of the Fatimids in this region has led to a change in the route of the Spice Road, where the Persian Gulf was used. Distribution of Eastern commodities to the Mediterranean world through the Red Sea and Egypt raised the Fatimids of the 11th century to the largest supplier.Due to trade relations, Fatimids have been in contact with many states. Sometimes they had also engaged in political struggles with these states. As a result of the long-term struggle with Byzantium, the Fatimids ruled the waters of the Eastern Mediterranean. In addition to all these developments, the Fâtimids had also given commercial concessions to various states to support trade. The reason for granting concessions is not political failures, but they want to support trade. The products subject to trade are quite diverse. Among these products are agricultural products such as dates, olives, grains, fruits and vegetables produced on the land of Fatimids; weaving products such as linen, cotton and silk. In addition, products such as silk, spice, ivory, precious stones and perfume exported from the east were both imported and exported. The arrival of the Crusaders in this region had disrupted the trade balance established by the Fatimids. Established Crusaders had given great concessions to Italian city-states. Although this situation could not prevent the Fatimids from doing trade, they had a big blow to their trade. All these developments have deeply affected the economy of Fatimids and this state has collapsed very soon. Keywords: Fatimids, Medieval, Trade, Egypt, Sicily, Byzantine.
