Crime is defined as a set of manners harming general social fabric, jeopardizing security of life and property of society and having a legal sanction according to the laws. This respect, being a society naturally leads to the existence of criminal manners among the members of a community.Governments, security forces and scientists play a crucial role in the matter of fighting against crime. There are numerous studies available in this fields. The main purpose of these studies is to assist security forces by inquiring the reason why people commit a crime, how these people's psychological and physical structure are and what are the underlying factors pushing them into crime. The impact of economic and demographic variables like populations, the rates of schooling, urbanizations, unemployment, marriage and divorce, degree of happiness and hope, populati on per officer and public expenditures per capita on the number of prisoners in penal institutions according to the city where the crimes have been investigated based on the data of the year 2013. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the presence of a spatial relationship among the cities that are neighboring in terms of borders and the relationship between crime and above mentioned variables. It has been determined with the help of the maximum likelihood method whether there is an interaction between cities by means of the spatial econometrics approach by using E-Views and GeoDa Programs. The respect of findings obtained from the analysis results, Spatial Error Model (SEM) has been found suitable and the acquired numeric values have been interpreted. Finally suggestions have been presented.
