In the study area, which is located 5 km west of the Gölpazan (Bilecik) village, Mesozoic and Cenozoic aged units crop out. In this study, the geology and Upper Jurassic ammonite fauna of the above mentioned units were studied. The Upper Permian Derbent limestone olistolith within the Triassic Karakaya complex forms the basement of the units in the area. This unit made up of recristallized limestones is over lain with an angular unconformity by the Middle Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous Bilecik formation. The Bilecik formation at the bottom starts with red colored, thin layer of conglomerate-sandstone-limestone sequence and continues upward wppith pink-cream colored ljmestone. The Gölpazan group overlies the Bilecik formation with an angular unconfonnjty. This group is divided into the Vezirhan and Üzümlü formations being lateral and vertical transitions. The Vezirhan formation consists of marl,VI clayey limestone, shale and interbeded tuffs. The Üzümlü formation is made up of alternating beds of sandstone, marl and clayey limestone. The Miocene Gemiciköy formation consisting of lacustrine limestone overlies the Gölpazan group with an angular unconformity. At the top of this sequence, the Quaeteraery aged alluvium takes place. The red colored limestone and marl sequence of the Bilecik formation have yielded ammonite assamblage of Chojfatia (Chojfatia) transitoria, Indosphinctes (Indosphinctes) chqffati,^ Reineckia sp., Sowerbyceras tietzi, Sowerbyceras tortisulcatum, Lytoceras sp., Tarcanelliceras sp., Glochiceras sp., Holcophylloceras mediterrenaum, Perisphinctes (Dichotomosphinctes) antecedens, Perisphinctes (Arisphinctes) plicatilis. Based on Aspidoceratidae, Lytoceratidae, Perisphinctidae, Phylloceratidae, Reineckeidae, Oppeliidae ve Glochiceratidae familian of the ammonite assamblage, twelwe genera and seven species were identified. Key word: Gölpazan, Upper Jurassic, ammonite.

Paleontolojik incelemeler sonucunda Bilecik formasyonu'na ait kırmızı renkli kireçtaşı içerisinde Choffatia (Choffatia) transitoria, Indosphinctes (Indosphinctes) choffati, Holcophyttoceras mediterraneum, Reineckia sp.,Sowerbyceras tietzi'dea oluşan ammonitlere; maralı seviyede ise Sowerbyceras tortisulcatum, Lytoceras sp., Tarametticeras sp., Ghchiceras sp., Holcophylloceras mediterrenaum, Perisphinctes (Dichotomosphinctes) antecedens, Perisphinctes (Arisphinctes) plicatilis`ten oluşan ammonit topluluğuna rastlanmıştır. Söz konusu ammonitlerin paleontoloijk incelemeleri neticesinde Aspidoceratidae, Lytoceratidae, Perisphinctidae, Phylloceratidae, Reineckeidae, Oppeliidae ve Glochicerat, dae familyalarına ait oniki cins ve yedi türün ayırtlaması yapılmıştır. Anahtar kelimeler: Gölpazarı,Üst Jura, Ammonit.
