The current research employing the general screening model and relational screening model was conducted to investigate the effect of fast break on the basketball on the result of the game and the mediating role of defensive rebounds and ball-stealing techniques in this effect. The study firstly focuses on the effect of fast break in the basketball on the result of the game and the secondary aim of the study is to explore the mediating role of defensive rebounds and ball-stealing techniques in this effect.A total of 16 teams from the 2014-15 Turkish Beko Basketball League were included in the current study. The study was limited to one game of each team from the 1st and 2nd half competitions played in two periods and to the play-off games. The data of the study were obtained through image-watching method by using e-analysis-basketball e-sports program on the recordings of the 2014-15 Beko Basketball League competitions with the permission granted from the Turkish Basketball Federation. Each match of 16 teams whose match recordings were received for the first half and second half of league and playoffs was watched and analyzed with the analysis program (e-analysis-basketball, e-sports). The results of the study revealed that there is a positive and significant correlation between the scores taken by means of ball-stealing, fast break and defensive rebounds according to the results of the matches analyzed (r=.386). In light of these findings, it can be argued that the game of basketball is a tactical game grounded on the effective application of fast break, ball-stealing and rebounds. For this reason, it is suggested that basketball coaches should increase the number of steals and rebounds through a good defense of all players and then plan trainings in such a ways as to get fast break game concept adopted as tactical game conception.
