This study aimed to determine the effect of the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music education on attitudes aimed at the Music Teaching Profession. Answers to the questions below were sought in the research carried out and in accordance with the survey model: 1. Attitudes of students towards the music teaching profession, a) Prior to taking the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music Education (4th Year 1st Term– First Implementation) at which level? b) After taking the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music Education (4th Year 2nd Term– Final Implementation) at which level? 2. Attitudes of students towards the Music teaching profession prior to taking the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music education (4th Year 1st Term– First Implementation) and after taking the above class (4th Year 2nd Term– Final Implementation); a) The university currently studied at, b) Gender, c) Graduate of which High School, d) Musical Instrument, e) The academic status of the faculty staff member teaching the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music education, f) Were significant difference evident where instruction had been received previously (seminars etc) on the pre-school period? 3. Were significant differences evident in attitudes towards the music teaching profession prior to taking the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music education (4th Year 1st Term– First Implementation) and after taking the class (4th Year 2nd Term– Final Implementation)? The population of the research comprised of a total of 130 students, 77 females and 52 males, studying in the music teaching department of one of three state universities based in three different provinces during the 2014-2015 academic year. The results provided by one of the students who did not correctly fill out the survey was not included in the analysis. `Attitudes towards the Music Teaching Profession Scale` developed by Tufan and Güdek in 2008 was used by the researcher with the aim of collecting data on the personal information form. The personal information form recorded such information as the university studied at, year and term of study, gender, type of high school graduated from, musical instrument played, the academic status of the faculty staff member teaching the General Approaches Class in Pre-School Music education and whether instruction had been previously received (seminars etc) on the pre-school period. The SPSS 16.0 statistical programme was used in the analysis of the data. Non-parametrical tests were implemented because the data did not meet the specification of the normalcy hypothesis of variance analysis and the t-test. For variables such as gender, high school graduated from, academic status of faculty staff member and whether instruction had been previously received on the subject or not, the non-parametrical test Mann Whitney-U was employed. Whereas for variables such as university currently studied at, musical instrument played and perception relating to importance attached to class, the non-parametrical test Kruskal-Wallis H was implemented. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was employed to determine whether there was a significant difference evident between the first and last implementation. According to the findings of the research, a significant variation is evident in the points of the `Attitudes towards the Music Teaching Profession Scale` pre and post taking of the above class. If the difference in points, mean rank and sum totals is taken into account, it is evident that the difference identifiable is in favour of the positive rank and final implementation scoring. According to this finding, the above class played an important role in the development of a positive attitude towards the music teaching profession.Key Words: Education, Music Teaching, Pre-School Period, Music Teaching Profession, Attitudes.

Bu araştırmada, Okul Öncesi Müzik Eğitiminde Genel Yaklaşımlar Dersinin Müzik Öğretmenliği Mesleğine Yönelik Tutumlar Üzerindeki Etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modeline uygun olarak düzenlenen araştırmada aşağıdaki sorulara cevap aranmıştır: 1. Öğrencilerin müzik öğretmenliği mesleğine yönelik tutumları, a) Okul Öncesi Müzik Eğitiminde Genel Yaklaşımlar dersini almadan önce (4. Sınıf 1. Dönem – İlk uygulama) hangi düzeydedir? b) Okul Öncesi Müzik Eğitiminde Genel Yaklaşımlar dersini aldıktan sonra (4. Sınıf 2. Dönem – Son uygulama) hangi düzeydedir? 2. Öğrencilerin müzik öğretmenliği mesleğine yönelik tutumları, Müzik Eğitiminde Genel Yaklaşımlar dersini almadan önce (4. Sınıf 1. Dönem – İlk uygulama) ve aldıktan sonra (4. Sınıf 2. Dönem – son uygulama); a) Öğrenime devam edilen üniversiteye, b) Cinsiyete, c) Mezun olunan liseye, d) Bireysel çalgıya, e) Okul Öncesi Genel Yaklaşımlar Dersini veren öğretim elemanın akademik statüsüne, f) Daha önce okul öncesi dönem ile ilgili bir eğitim (seminer vs.) alma durumuna göre anlamlı farklılıklar göstermekte midir? 3. Öğrencilerin müzik öğretmenliği mesleğine yönelik tutumları Müzik Eğitiminde Genel Yaklaşımlar dersini almadan önce (4. Sınıf 1. Dönem – İlk uygulama) ve aldıktan sonra (4.Sınıf 2. Dönem – son uygulama) anlamlı farklılık göstermekte midir? Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yılında Türkiye'nin üç farklı ilindeki devlet üniversitesinde, müzik öğretmenliği bölümünde öğrenimine devam eden, 77'si kız ve 52'si erkek olmak üzere toplam gönüllü 130 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Ölçme aracını eksik, hatalı dolduran bir kişi ise analiz dışı bırakılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan kişisel bilgi formu ile Tufan ve Güdek (2008) tarafından geliştirilen `Müzik Öğretmenliği Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği` kullanılmıştır. Kişisel bilgi formu, araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin hangi üniversitede öğrenimine devam ettiği, şu anda hangi dönemde (yarı yıl) olduğu, cinsiyeti, mezun olunan okul türü, bireysel çalgısı, Okul Öncesi Müzik Eğitiminde Genel Yaklaşımlar Dersi veren öğretim elemanın akademik statüsü ve daha önce okul öncesi dönem ile ilgili eğitim alıp almadığı gibi sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde SPSS 16.0 istatistik paket programı kullanılmıştır. Veriler parametrik testlerden t-testi ve varyans analizinin normallik varsayımını karşılamadığı için non-parametrik testler kullanılmıştır. Cinsiyet, mezun olunan lise, öğretim elemanının akademik statüsü, daha önce okul öncesi dönem ile ilgili eğitim alma değişkenleri için non-parametrik testlerden Mann Whitney-U testi; öğrenime devam edilen üniversite, bireysel çalgı, dersin önemine ilişkin algı değişkenleri için non-parametrik testlerden Kruskal-Wallis H Testi kullanılmıştır. İlk uygulama ile son uygulama arasında anlamlı farklılığın olup olmadığı ise Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi ile test edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre, Müzik Öğretmenliği Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği puanlarının ilk uygulama ile son uygulama arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmektedir. Fark puanlarının sıra ortalaması ve toplamları dikkate alındığında, gözlenen bu farkın pozitif sıralar yani son uygulama puanı lehinde olduğu görülmektedir. Bu sonuca göre; ders alındıktan sonra dersin olumlu tutum geliştirmeye önemli bir katkısının olduğu ifade edilebilir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Eğitim, Müzik Eğitimi, Okul Öncesi Dönem, Müzik Öğretmenliği Mesleği, Tutum.
