In this study, we have searched the good life and luck relation under M. C. Nussbaum's guidance. In the context of today's ethics, even in today's political problems some dilemmas of modern (moral) philosophy, such as silence in the face of values which are open to the provisions of fortune, has led us to the origin, to the source, beginning. Nussbaum was one of the philosophers who made this turning back, especially she has focused on the good life and luck relation. In her early works she criticized the dilemmas of Utilitarian and Kantian teachings by a non-doctrinal way, and found the ethics of Aristotle deeper and more complex opposite to them. In the face of the realities of everyday life, dependencies, contingencies, values open to luck, she has followed the guidance of Aristotle. It is not surprising that she has followed this way for she has studied in the Classical Department at university. However, as soon as Nussbaum has gradually interested in politics interest, addressed contemporary ethical and political issues, she has followed an ethico-political line, as a woman she has occupied herself with the problems faced by the women, fears, hazards, inequalities, injustices that people lived and are living in. On the other hand in her assessments, findings and proposals of ethical and political issues, Nussbaum has nurtured, enriched and made functional the insights and understandings of good life and luck arguments which are dominant in Greeks. Yet this reading line of Nussbaum's is not highlighted and featured enough for some reason. Usually she, in accordance with her most popular explanations, with forgetting the discussion of luck which is in the heart of The Fragility of Goodness, has read within capabilities approach which has the best popular evaluations and a theory's character. In this study, we try to show that we should read Nussbaum, who is writing spreadly and dispersedly, via luck and by doing that we can reveal her philosophy's general sketch and essence.
