Investigation of Preschool Teachers’s Opinions on the Use of Web 2.0 Tools in Education

 In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the opinions of preschool teachers about the use of Web 2.0 tools. Within the framework of this primary objective, it is intended to determine which Web 2.0 tools preschool teachers use in their classrooms, to reveal the pedagogical perspective on how these Web 2.0 tools are used in preschool education, and to analyze the positive and negative contributions of these tools to preschool students in accordance with their intended use in the education process is planned. This study was carried out with the qualitative research method. In the study, the case study design, one of the qualitative research designs, was applied. The criterion sampling approach, which is a purposive sample technique, was employed to determine the study group for the research. The study group was selected based on the criterion that the preschool teachers possessed prior knowledge, utilization, and familiarity with Web 2.0 resources, and that they were actively using them in the educational processes. The research study had a study group consisting of 10 female pre-school teachers who were employed in different public schools located in Konya. In the study, a semi-structured interview form containing open-ended answers included in qualitative research was used. While analyzing the data, descriptive analysis used in qualitative research methods was used. According to the findings of the research, it has been observed that preschool teachers show a sense of competence in using Web 2.0 tools ;these educators effectively incorporate various technological tools, including Storyboard, Zoom, Storyjumper, Canva, and Popplet, into their preschool education practices; however, they face challenges in implementing these tools due to factors such as inadequate availability of tools and equipment, technological infrastructure issues, limited readiness of children, low levels of literacy, and insufficient involvement of families, with Web 2.0 tools, they provide the opportunity for children to develop themselves by ensuring their active participation, improving their interest and attention in a positive way, and most importantly having fun, and they support learning; additionally, these tools simplify learning by firmly establishing concepts presented to children, thereby making the learning process simpler and more enjoyable through their active involvement.

 Bu çalışmada okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin Web 2.0 araçlarının kullanımına yönelik görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu temel amaç çerçevesinde okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıflarında hangi Web 2.0 araçlarına yer verdiklerinin belirlenmesi, bu Web 2.0 araçlarının okul öncesi eğitimde nasıl kullanıldığına dair pedagojik perspektifin ortaya konulması ve bu araçların okul öncesi öğrencilere eğitim sürecinde kullanım amaçları doğrultusunda ne derece katkı sağladığının, olumlu ve olumsuz yönlerinin değerlendirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Bu çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada, nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu belirlenirken amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunun seçiminde ölçüt olarak okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin daha önce Web 2.0 araçlarını tanımış, kullanmış ve bilgi sahibi olması ve eğitim süreçlerinde aktif olarak kullanıyor olmaları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu; Konya ilinde çeşitli devlet okullarında çalışmakta olan 10 kadın okul öncesi öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırmalar kapsamında yer verilen açık uçlu cevaplar içeren yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler analiz edilirken nitel araştırma yöntemlerinde kullanılan betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre; okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin Web 2.0 araçlarını kullanımı konusunda kendilerini yetkin hissettikleri; Storyboard, Zoom, Storyjumper, Canva, Popplet gibi teknolojik araçları okul öncesi eğitimde etkin bir şekilde kullandıkları; yeterli düzeyde araç ve gerecin bulunmaması, teknolojik alt yapıdaki sorunlar, çocukların hazır bulunuşluk düzeylerinin yetersiz olması, okuma yazma bilmemeleri ve aile katılımının yetersizliği gibi nedenlerden ötürü uygulamalarda zorluklar yaşadıkları; Web 2.0 araçlarıyla çocukların aktif katılımını sağlayarak, ilgi ve dikkatlerini olumlu yönde geliştirerek, en önemlisi eğlenmelerini sağlayarak kendilerini geliştirmelerine fırsat sundukları, öğrenmeyi destekledikleri; Web 2.0 araçlarına günlük eğitim akışında yer verildiğinde anlatılanları çocuklar için somutlaştırdıkları ve çocukların aktif katılımlarını sağlayarak öğrenmeyi daha kolay ve keyifli bir süreç haline getirdikleri tespit edilmiştir.
