Özet:

This study aims to reveal the impact of the Metaverse on the tourism industry from the perspective of tourism stakeholders. More specifically, this study aims to investigate how stakeholders in the tourism industry evaluate the concept of Metaverse and how they think Metaverse technology can have an impact on the tourism industry. This study has the characteristics of exploratory research, one of the qualitative research methods. For this reason, the study used a purposive sampling method, and a semi-structured interview form was used with 18 participants. Within the scope of the research, Voyant Tools software program was used to determine the most frequently repeated word frequencies from the data obtained from the participants. When the word cloud is analyzed, it is seen that the most commonly used word is virtual. This was followed by the words tourism, metaverse, and digital. According to the studys findings, hotel businesses can use Metaverse for promotion; tourist guides can benefit from this technology in areas that require adventure, and food and beverage businesses can use it in menus to promote food in restaurants. It is thought that the effects of Metaverse technology will be seen in congress events and historical and cultural destinations. Destination managers can promote destinations by organizing virtual events and festivals. In case of inability to access the product for people with disabilities, a realistic experience can be offered with virtual events.
