Özet:

One of the societies that have maintained their culture since ancient times is the Kyrgyz. Birth-marriage-death traditions, which we call the transition period in this society, which does not break their commitment to the tradition called Kaada salt, are still continuing. For this reason, the traditions and beliefs of the Kyrgyz related to birth constituted the main subject of our study. In this study, while the beliefs and traditions specific to Kyrgyzstan are specified, it is also tried to include the rituals that have been changed over time and have ceased to be applied in accordance with their own wishes. The studies and researches on the subject have been widely scanned and analysed in general and an evaluation of the studies that have been put forward so far has been made. In them, the child is seen as one of the main basic elements that give the family a complete meaning. Children have an important place in the family in Kyrgyz society. Kyrgyz people have the idea that the more the number of children, the stronger the family and even the nation will be. In each family, children know their seven lineages, as it can be understood from this, the concept of lineage and family is seen as an indispensable element in Kyrgyz society. In this context, the study examined and interpreted the traditions of the Kyrgyz Turks, who stand out among the Turkic communities in terms of adherence to their traditions, in the light of literature sources.
