Özet:

Nationalism and militarism developed rapidly in Germany, which was oppressed both economically and politically due to the Versailles order established following the First World War. The Second World War broke out when the Nazi Party came to power, followed an expansionist policy, and attacked Poland on September 1, 1939. While the world was divided into two - the Axis and Allied Powers - in this period, Turkey wanted to stay out of the war, but was kept under the pressure of both the Allies and the Axis powers throughout the war. In 1943, the Allies wanted Turkey to abandon its policy of remaining neutral and to take their side, and both parties held talks between themselves on this issue. One of the meetings between the Allies and Turkey is the Adana Meeting, also known as the Adana Conference. Following the Casablanca talks, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill met with İsmet İnönü on January 30, 1943 in Adana to persuade Turkey to enter the war on the side of the Allies. This study aims to analyse this event in Adana based on the news published in the Soviet and Turkish press.
