Özet:

Within the scope of the surveys we have been conducting in the Bozburun Peninsula of Marmaris, in the 2009, temple?-farmstead or small farm structures were found for the first time in the territoriums of the demes of Phoinix mainly at Gedikçukuru, Burgaz Tepe and Küçükdibekbaşı and Tymnos. During the subsequent studies,in the 2022 campaign, a rural structure, which looks quite different from the farmstead typologies we brought for these demes and which we documented as the largest scale of all, was found in Erler Bay, locally known as Cinbükü at Selimiye. This study examines the micro-scale catchment area, function and transformation of the rural structure documented in Erler Bay. Along with its dominant position on the coastal area overlooking Losta Bay and integrated with terraces with low absolute height and slope gradients and wider dimensions laterally, the structure could have been a sea-port that served as a control andor distribution point for maritime trade. However; in light of its morphology and construction technique; the possibility of a dual function is emphasized to the extent that it overlaps with the architecture of farmsteads and some cult buildings in the region.
