Özet:

Humans tendency toward the truth arises from nature. With this nature, a person is dragged into a search from the beginning of birth. One of the main guiding factors in this process is religion. Every religion tries to show its truth to its followers through holy books and prophets. In this way, sincere believers understand the essence of the truth and make sense of their search. They try to guide people who cannot achieve this with their words. These words can be simple expressions or they can be wise expressions. The wise words seen in the Islamic civilization vision are the product of such a thought. These words are statements that contain truth and mysterious sequences. They aim to give meaning to Muslims lives by making them devote themselves to the path of Allah and his prophet. One of the representatives of this tradition is Ataullah İskenderi. This study aims to evaluate the human perception and view of truth in his book named Hikem-i Ataiyye, which is a compilation of his wise words. In the context of the work, it is understood that humans go through a three-stage development process. These processes, it is named as ılm, ırfan, and hikmah. The understanding of truth at each stage is revealed with wise words in the book. This book, one of the classics of Sufism, was analyzed from the perspective of modern psychology. Nowadays, to the person who first loses his meaning and then loses himself; it is an important work in terms of presenting the true path and reminding the original through its stages of development. There are no studies in the literature that discuss Hikem-i Ataiyye in this context and interpret it according to the science of psychology. The document analysis technique was used in the study prepared using qualitative research methods. While care was taken to ensure that the sources were primary, the annotations of the work were based on those of Kastamonulu Seyid Hafız Ahmet Mahir Efendi. As a result of the study, it was understood that a truth-centered search for meaning is more effective in making sense of life. It has been observed that determining human development according to the stages of ılm, Irfan, and hikmah leads to a more consistent and healthy view of life, unlike theories in modern psychology.
