Özet:

While Turkish-German relations, which started to develop during the reign of Abdulhamid, increased economically with the Baghdad railway project, Germany gained many privileges in the Ottoman lands with what experts describe as a policy of peaceful influence. Germany and the Ottoman Empire, which were allies in World War I, lost this war, the Ottoman Empire collapsed and the Republic of Turkey was established with its new name and regime. Relations between Turkey and Germany resumed with the 1924 Treaty, and German influence quickly reached its former position in Turkey. Turkey had its share of the propaganda activities adopted by authoritarian and fascist regimes in the years between the two world wars, and German influence, especially economic, political and cultural, began to be effective in all Turkish institutions. In this study, findings about the basic character of the relations between the two countries between 1923 and 1945 were obtained and the German cultural influence in Turkey was discussed.

II.
