 The Covid-19 pandemic has not only occurred in the health sector but has also caused serious activities in all real sectors, especially industry, service, agriculture and food. In this process, the banking sector, especially state banks, played a major role in reducing the economic effects of the pandemic by financing the needs of both households and businesses. The pandemic has caused the continuation of the loan volume in the banking sector, where economic growth is maintained. The changes in economic policies that started with the economy returning to normal in the post-pandemic period have shown the course of the loans used by the banking sector. For his reason, in this study, a comparison of the corporate loan volume of the banking sector between 2019 and 2023 in Turkey and Balıkesir was examined during and after the pandemic period. While cash corporate loans in foreign currency decreased in Turkey, cash corporate loans in Turkish Lira increased, and companies in Balıkesir were affected by the pandemic. It was observed that they used loans close to Turkeys average in the first year, and in the next 3 years, they tended to use more corporate loans compared to Turkey in general.

 Covid-19 pandemisi sadece sağlık sektörüne sıkıntılar yaşatmamış aynı zamanda sanayi, hizmetler, tarım ve gıda başta olmak üzere tüm reel sektörlerde ciddi sıkıntılara yol açmıştır. Bu süreçte, başta kamu bankaları olmak üzere bankacılık sektörü gerek hane halkının gerekse işletmelerin ihtiyaçlarını finanse ederek pandeminin ekonomik etkilerinin azaltılmasında büyük rol oynamıştır. Pandeminin neden olduğu bu ekonomik etkilerin azaltılması adına uygulanan tedbirler bankacılık sektöründe kredi hacminin genişlemesine neden olmuştur. Pandemi sonrası süreçte ekonominin normale dönmesiyle birlikte başlayan ekonomi politikalarındaki değişimler ise bankacılık sektörü tarafından kullandırılan kredilerin de seyrini belirlemiştir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada pandemi süreci ve sonrasında bankacılık sektörünün 2019-2023 arası kurumsal kredi hacminin Türkiye ve Balıkesir karşılaştırılması incelenmiş, Türkiyede yabancı para cinsinden kullanılan nakdi kurumsal krediler azalırken, Türk Parası cinsinden kullandırılan nakdi kurumsal kredilerin arttığı, Balıkesirdeki firmaların da pandeminin ilk yılında Türkiye ortalamasına yakın kredi kullandıkları, sonraki 3 yılda ise Türkiye geneline göre daha fazla kurumsal kredi kullanma eğilimine yöneldikleri görülmüştür.
